Rome made not just gladiators, perfect street systems and secret catacomb-labyrinths. It made a musically genius, too. The here recommended songs are from his new album “Strange Weekend” (2012). You get Porcelain Raft’s music here on iTunes and can visit his lovely virtual home here. An amazing artist par excellence.
(Saskatoon/Canada) - This brilliant band, signed on Sugarhill Records, melts your heart away with their songs, wrapped in melancholy and finest alternative country like ice-cream in the sun. Settled down on the wide field where bands like Great Lake Swimmers or Midlake built their musically tents up, is The Deep Dark Woods a band whose music you feel as the exactly right stuff to lean back on your sundbed and listen to a huge collection of tracks, made by people who knows their craft, producing authentic and convincing Country and Americana.
Nominated for the Sirius XM Indie Awards just a while ago and performing on this years’ Bonnaroo, I think you will hear in future a lot more about them.
Herohill: “The Place I Left Behind exceeds even the highest of expectations and remarkably pays tribute to the sound that defines our country’s musical heritage without sounding dated. the type of record that ignores seasons and trends, for the simpler and much loftier ambition of timelessness.”
You can get their current album “The Place I Left Behind” on iTunesand for figuring out more about this wonderful band you should visit their web-home.
The Swedish songwriter and pianist (and I think, multi-instrumentalist, too) isn’t just a very lovely person, he’s also highly talented and studied Music Theory and does own the major in Musicology. For listening to his repertoire of wonderful songs you should click here.
First things first. I love the fact that just during one year since I started “Wah Wah My Ya Ya” happened a huge visitor-frequency to my blog by readers from allover the world. The readers of my blog are lesser users from Tumblr than more regular internet-users on the search for Indie rock bands and music. According to my blog stats, most of Indie music-fans and readers come from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Scandinavian countries, Spain and Brasil.
I have lots of fun introducing bands and music to all of you as music is apart from oxygen my 2nd important must-have as I use to say.
Am very happy to announce that the Jungle Indie rock magazine (former “Jimdo”) invited me to write for their extraordinary brilliant music-mag. Jungle was for long time one of my own favorised music-mags in the world wide web which I’ve visited regularly and they had me as fan and reader. So it does mean a lot to me to collaborate from now on with the guys from Jungle. As the mag works with a huge amount of bands and gets always the newest music, I look very much forward to this lovely thing, to can support them with own ideas and recommendations. This does mean, every article or recommendation I’ll write in future gets first published on Jungle and afterwards on my own blog Wah Wah My Ya Ya.
Many thanks to every single one of you who comes regularly back to read my stuff along the planet of Indie music. When I check my stats from time to time, it blows me away from which hidden corners in the world my readers coming (even from Uganda I have to mention proudly).
So, bless you all and I hope you’ll still have fun reading my Drunken English.
Just an example what really intelligent and mind-branding music is. If the lyrics or the way he sings. I’d call it perfection.
The reason, why my next band article circles around Crooked Fingers. The band of this man and genius. I may ‘cursingly’ add “fuck” to make clear how really good he is as songwriter and producer.
I follow the progression of this band since the very first minute I listened to them. I can’t wait to listen to their album once it get released this June. This is their second official video, playing with the images to create an original compossition. Again the simplicity and creativity write the line of a band that can be big.
Animals, taken from the forthcoming album ‘Family’ released 18th June.
Chip Taylor & The New Ukrainians “F**k All The Perfect People”
So, you need a new good night song because you have forgotten all the lyric-lines from those your mum sang once to you beside your bed? Well, now you’re adult and I think, you need a new song before you go asleep. Deffo. Some relaxing, sugar-sweet words of philosophy wrapped in lovely Americana tunes and sang by the wonderful voice of Angelina Jolie’s uncle Chip Taylor.
Low “Point of Disgust” at Sacred Heart Music Center, Minnesota
Drummer and singer Mimi Parker and her husband Alan Sparhawk from “Low” perform this hyper-beautiful song at Sacred Heart Music Center in Minnesota (Duluth) and presenting your tender hairs on your skin an electrical load of dancing iones and electrones.
But Garbage are back. Their new album will be released in the 1st week of May this year. The new album’s title is “Not Your Kind Of People” and the few bits I could listen to, yet (I hate Love and Blood for Poppies) were forged in fire and the new tracks rocking like hell.
